Why try Glider?

A paper plane feels like the right vehicle for this sort of wandering. You skim past angular trees and hills, leave a thin trail behind you and pick your own line through the scenery. There is enough steering to make it a game, without a cockpit full of instruments to learn.

Start with Free Roam if you want to look around. When flying starts to feel familiar, Race and Freestyle give you something more specific to work toward.

Which mode should you start with?

Free Roam is the natural first stop. Practice turns, explore the landscape and see how far you can fly. The other two modes use the same basic movement but change what counts as a good flight.

  • Free Race: aim for gates before their timers run out. The gate display shows the distance and time remaining.
  • Freestyle: fly close to the scenery to build a combo, then fly clear for three seconds to bank it.

How do you fly on a computer or phone?

On a computer, hold Space to charge your launch and release it to fly. WASD steers; Space gives you a boost once you are airborne. Escape pauses the flight. The game also offers mouse steering. Small adjustments are a useful starting point: banking hard changes your view quickly.

On a phone, use the touch controls. Distractory’s editor confirmed that touch steering works on a real phone. The game fits a narrow screen, so you do not need to switch to a computer just to try it.

Sound is optional. We launched, steered and paused a flight with it muted. Settings include visual-quality options, steering sensitivity and inverted controls.

Does Glider save your progress?

Yes. Glider remembers progress on your device. Our flight records were still there after reloading the page, including a Free Roam distance and a Freestyle score.

For another device, the save menu offers an optional cloud-save code and PIN. Keep both private. The privacy notice explains that local progress can disappear if you clear browser storage; a cloud save is a separate copy.

Is it free, and do you need an account?

You can start flying for free without an account, email address or game download. Coins and unlockable gliders and worlds are part of the game. At our check, the privacy notice said new coin-pack sales were paused, with earlier purchased balances preserved.

The site uses analytics and reports flight distances toward the shared total shown on the homepage. Optional cloud saving sends progress to a save service. Playing without a named account does not mean the game processes no data.

What did we check?

On October 9, 2026, we tested desktop launch, keyboard steering, boost and pause. We flew in Free Roam, Free Race and Freestyle, saw the race timer and distance display, banked a Freestyle combo and checked flight results. Personal records persisted after a reload.

We also checked muted play, settings, the optional save menu and the official privacy information. Distractory’s editor separately confirmed phone touch steering.
