Tiltanic

Tiltanic is a free browser game where you tilt the sea beneath a tiny boat. Rock your phone, or move your mouse on a computer, to carry it through gaps and past hazards. The boat follows the wave, which is where your carefully judged plan tends to unravel.

Why does tilting the sea work so well?

You are not steering the boat. You are changing the water it rides on, then living with the result. A movement that looks harmless can turn into a wave at exactly the wrong moment. Getting through a gap feels earned because you have to think a little ahead of the boat.

The paper-textured sea, bobbing creatures and blunt little failure messages suit the premise. It is a game about making a mess with a very simple control. The quick restart is useful, because understanding what went wrong usually makes you want another go.

Should you play Tiltanic on your phone?

We recommend playing on a phone if you have one handy. Tilting the device makes the central idea feel immediate: you move, the sea rocks, and the boat has to cope.

On a computer, move your mouse sideways to tilt the sea. The desktop screen also supplies a QR code for opening the voyage on a phone. You can play without sound.

How do you get the boat through?

Start with the warm-up. It introduces the relationship between your movement, the wave and the obstacles. Aim to set up the wave before the boat reaches trouble, rather than trying to rescue it at the last instant.

Small corrections are a useful starting point. Overcorrecting can create your next problem before you have cleared the current one. A failed run shows your gate count and a short explanation, then lets you start another voyage.

Pause is available during a run. Resume when you are ready; the game gives you a countdown before sailing continues.

Do you need an account or download?

No. Tiltanic plays directly in your browser, without an account or download.
