Last Copy Video

Last Copy Video turns choosing a movie into a visit to a small independent video store. Walk past shelves of tapes, inspect a film, or ask Ronnie, the AI clerk behind the counter, for a recommendation. It is a place to find something to watch, with the atmosphere of somewhere you might once have spent a Friday evening.

A video store to wander through

The pleasure starts before you have picked a movie. Tape shelves, handwritten-looking signs, posters and a television behind the counter make browsing feel like visiting a place. If you remember video stores, the setting offers a familiar ritual. If you never had one nearby, it is a playful way to explore what browsing the aisles could feel like.

The store mixes its 1990s setting with a current idea: an AI clerk who responds to what you feel like watching.

Ask Ronnie for a pick

Press T to open Ronnie’s chat. Choose a suggested conversation starter or type your own request. Tell him what you feel like watching; he can ask follow-up questions to narrow down a suggestion. His recommendations are AI-generated.

Open a recommended title to see its synopsis, director, cast and runtime. Add to my tapes lets you set a choice aside while you keep exploring.

Walking around the store

Use WASD to walk and drag with the mouse to look around. Click tapes and other objects to inspect them, and use the shelf controls to browse collections.

Is it worth trying on a phone?

We recommend a desktop or laptop for walking around the shop, the part that makes Last Copy distinctive. Movement can be limited on a phone, making it harder to get the same sense of wandering between the shelves.

Do you need an account?

You can browse the store, ask Ronnie for movie recommendations and add films to My tapes without signing up or paying.
